Our adventure began with a touch of luxury as we flew Delta One with Diamond Status. Spencer and Bailey were thrilled to visit the cockpit—and even made a special announcement welcoming passengers on board. It was the perfect start to our holiday escape.

December 24: A Royal Welcome Aboard

After arriving in Sydney, we were among the first to step onto the magnificent Disney Wonder. Warm smiles from the staff and crew made us feel like royalty the moment we arrived.

We chose the opulent Royal Suite, known as the Walter E. Disney Suite, where we were treated to unparalleled luxury and comfort throughout our stay. This exquisitely appointed suite, named after the visionary behind the magic of Disney, provided us with a spacious retreat adorned with elegant furnishings and lavish amenities. From the moment we stepped into this palatial abode, we knew our holiday experience would be nothing short of extraordinary.

One of the many exclusive privileges of our Royal Suite was the concierge-only lunch at Triton's, a dining experience that epitomized Disney's commitment to impeccable service and attention to detail. As we entered the elegant restaurant, we were greeted by our attentive hosts, who ushered us to a private table overlooking the sparkling waters of the ocean.

Following our sumptuous lunch, my husband and I spent the afternoon at the Cadillac Lounge for a champagne tasting—an experience that added a touch of elegance to our day at sea. As we entered the stylish lounge, we were greeted by the soothing melodies of live music and the gentle clinking of champagne flutes. Our knowledgeable sommelier guided us through a selection of premium champagnes, sharing insights into their origins and characteristics.

With each effervescent sip, we were transported on a sensory journey, savoring the delicate nuances of each vintage. As the day transitioned into evening, our children reveled in the excitement of exploring the ship's wonders. One of the highlights of their day was the Disney Wonder Sail-A-Wave Party, a lively and colorful celebration that took place on the ship's deck as we set sail from Sydney. Led by Disney characters and crew members, the party was a whirlwind of music, dancing, and laughter, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and excitement.

With confetti filling the air and the sea breeze blowing through our hair, we couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration as we joined fellow passengers in waving goodbye to Sydney's shores. It was a magical moment that marked the beginning of our unforgettable holiday aboard the Disney Wonder.

December 25: A Christmas Feast Fit for Royalty

Christmas Day dawned upon us in the luxury of our royal suite. We enjoyed the special treatment of being the only guests on the entire ship granted access to exclusive room service by Palo, where we were served a sumptuous brunch and dinner featuring Northern Italian delicacies. The culinary delights extended to custom treats for the kids, making our festive celebrations truly magical.

December 26: Exploring Tasmania's Natural Wonders

Venturing ashore, we immersed ourselves in Tasmania's breathtaking beauty with visits to Russell Falls and the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. While a separate blog will delve into our land-based adventures, suffice it to say, it was a day filled with awe-inspiring encounters with nature's wonders.

In the evening, we returned to the Disney Wonder for a magical dining experience at Animator's Palate. As we dined on delectable cuisine inspired by Disney's most beloved films, we were treated to a captivating show that brought the art of animation to life before our eyes.

From whimsical sketches to dazzling displays of color and movement, Animator's Palate transported us into a world of imagination and wonder, making it the perfect finale to our day of exploration and adventure.

Richard and I ended the night with a Tequila & Margarita Tasting, a perfect finale to our day of exploration.

December 27: Fun at Sea and Pampering Pleasures

As the Disney Wonder glided gracefully through the ocean waves, our family relished a leisurely day at sea, embracing the tranquility and excitement of our maritime adventure. While our children delighted in the ship's myriad amenities, including poolside adventures and engaging youth activities, my husband and I embarked on a journey of relaxation and indulgence.

Our day began with a delightful session of trivia, where we tested our knowledge and shared laughs with fellow passengers. Sipping on freshly brewed coffee, we soaked in the stunning views of the endless horizon, feeling a sense of peace and contentment wash over us.

IIn the afternoon, Richard and I retreated to the luxurious sanctuary of the Senses Spa Villas for a 150-minute couples villa appointment. Nestled in serenity, we indulged in a blissful array of pampering treatments — from soothing massages to rejuvenating facials — leaving us feeling refreshed and revitalized.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we ventured to an afternoon mixology session, where skilled bartenders guided us through the art of crafting signature cocktails. With expert guidance, we honed our bartending skills and savored the creative concoctions, each sip a toast to the unforgettable moments shared on board the Disney Wonder.

In the evening, our family enjoyed the culinary delights and lively entertainment of Tiana's Place. Inspired by the beloved Disney film The Princess and the Frog, Tiana's Place captured the essence of New Orleans' vibrant culture and cuisine. From mouthwatering Creole dishes to toe-tapping jazz performances, every moment at Tiana's Place was a celebration of flavor and fun, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Before bidding farewell to our seafaring home, we seized the opportunity to capture cherished memories with signature Disney cruise photos — a tangible reminder of the joy and camaraderie that filled our hearts throughout our voyage.

Throughout our journey, the Disney Wonder's meticulously planned itinerary ensured there was never a dull moment. New Year's Eve: A Spectacular Sydney Opera Gala Concert

We transitioned to the next chapter of our Australian escapade and were welcomed to Sydney with open arms. We embarked on a full day of exploration, including a private tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House. The evening crescendoed with a breathtaking Opera Gala Concert, followed by fireworks that illuminated the night sky, bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new with boundless joy.
